Today is day one of Babsandstella.com. Last Saturday I woke up full of words and it came to me that I wanted to write a blog. Less than a week later here I am. I am no tech. I am a writer who doesn’t even know how to format columns in a newsletter. But through the wonderful world of Google I discovered the app Freelancer and found the help I needed from a freelance web designer.
Infinite love, hugs, smiles, shared tears, friendship brings laughter, warmth and a companionship that comforts us every day. A friend will hold your hand when you face the daunting challenge of surgery, wait on you hand and foot while you recover at home.
Just as the chill of winter gave way to spring blossoms , I enjoyed the luxury of a visit to my long-time friend in Boise, Idaho. Accommodated in what she lovingly refers to as the “”en suite,” – her camper in the driveway, I was greeted with a latte at my door every morning, lovingly granted from her warm hands. The sound of baby birds sweetly serenaded us, we shared quiet moments of camaraderie in the gazebo.
After dinners of sumptuous home-cooked meals, and shared laughter over television gems ,she escorted me from her house to the camper, “to make sure I got in safely.” A hug always ended my day. How simple and yet how magical is the bond of friendship.
I started a mini photo project: capturing one stranger a day and asking them a single question—“What brings you joy?”
The answers were beautiful and unpredictable.
One said “the smell of old books,” another said “sunlight on my skin after winter,” and one whispered “my granddaughter’s laugh.”
